Thomaston-Upson Industrial Park

Description

Our first park is a 465-acre site featuring excellent rail, highway transportation and proximity to our regional airport with the largest tract approximately 85 acres.


Location

This industrial park is located on State Route 36 East, approximately 2 miles east of Downtown Thomaston, and  close proximity to the Thomaston-Upson Regional Airport.


Environment

Surrounding land uses include light manufacturing,   a peaking power facility, agricultural and residential.


Topography

The majority of acreage is rolling to moderate hillsides.


Utilities

ELECTRIC POWER
Located within service area of City of Thomaston; customer choice over 900 KW, served by Georgia Power, Upson EMC (Oglethorpe Power Co.) and the City of Thomaston (MEAG).
NATURAL GAS
Available in industrial quantities on both a firm and interruptible basis. Wholesale supplier is Southern Natural Gas; local marketer is customer choice.  The main size is 4".
WATER
The City of Thomaston provides water, with an excess capacity of .25 mgd. The park is served by a 16-inch water main.
SEWER

Sewer is provided by the City of Thomaston, with an excess capacity of .3 mgd served by an 6-inch main.


Transportation

HIGHWAYS
Interstate 75 is 25 miles east via SR 36,  U.S. Highway 19 four-lane runs directly north and south of the city.

RAILROADS
Norfolk Southern Rail services at Thomaston (local). Norfolk Southern piggyback service at Macon (46 miles).

AIR SERVICE
International Airport: Hartsfield-Jackson International – 65 miles north; Commercial Airport: Macon Municipal – 45 miles east; Local Airport: Thomaston-Upson Regional – is 6 miles northeast with  6350-foot runway.
